La La Land a remporté le Golden Globe de la meilleure comédie musicale et le prix BAFTA du meilleur film. Le long métrage a aussi été déclaré meilleur film de l'année par l'American Film Institute (AFI) et s'est retrouvé dans le top 10 des meilleures productions de 2016 du National Board of Review. Damien Chazelle a été nommé meilleur réalisateur par la Directors Guild of America et Emma Stone a été élue meilleure actrice aux Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Tous ces trophées sont des indices parlant de la suprématie de La La Land et de ses chances importantes de se retrouver grand gagnant de la cérémonie des Oscars, qui se tiendra ce dimanche à Los Angeles.
