Ouija : L'origine du mal

That film I wasn't too crazy about, but Ouija: Origin of Evil certainly brings Flanagan back to the forefront of interesting names working in the genre today.

The film certainly works as a stand-alone story, but fans of the 2014 predecessor should stick around through the end credits, when the narrative connection between the two is revealed in a short sequence featuring veteran horror film actress Lin Shaye. 

You may feel compelled to dismiss this new Ouija out of hand just because of its connection to its predecessor, but that would be a mistake, as you'll be missing out on one of the biggest cinematic surprises of the year.
