En 1943, durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, un artilleur américain mourant basé en Grande-Bretagne donne une bague à un habitant en lui demandant de la remettre à sa compagne se trouvant aux Etats-Unis. 50 ans plus tard, un homme retrouve cette bague et tente d'en comprendre son histoire.
